One man was killed and another hospitalized as the result of a shooting Sunday evening just south of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The shooting occurred about 8:10 p.m. Sunday at 2233 S. Hobart Blvd., just east of South Western Avenue, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.

A 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were standing in front of an apartment building when two men got out of a vehicle, fired shots at them, got back in the vehicle and drove away, the officer said.

The 25-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and the 19-year-old was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where his vital signs were described as stable, the officer said.

Their names were not released.
