Nearly a dozen suspects roughed up a man and carjacked two vehicles from a Sun Valley body shop, police said Thursday.
Ten to 11 suspects in dark clothing descended upon the business in the 8500 block of Lankershim Boulevard about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun, police said.
Two vehicles were stolen, a black Genesis – Hyundai’s luxury brand – and a white BMW, according to an LAPD spokesman.
An ambulance was called and the victim was taken to a hospital. News reports showed him with a bloody face, but he was conscious and alert.
The suspects remained on the loose Thursday morning.
