A fire that erupted Friday in a Lake Elsinore home and extended to other structures on the property caused catastrophic damage, displacing the four occupants, none of whom suffered injuries.

The blaze was reported shortly after 10 a.m. Friday in the 17000 block of Baker Street, just north of Highway 74 and less than a half-mile west of Interstate 15, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the single-story house, extending to three out-buildings and surrounding vegetation.

Firefighters quickly stopped the blaze from spreading and turned their attention to knocking down the flames in the structures, officials said.

Roughly 90 minutes later, the fires in the house and outbuildings were completely extinguished, according to the fire department.

All of the structures were destroyed, displacing the four adults residing there. Their identities were not disclosed.

Officials said Red Cross personnel were requested to assist the parties with finding temporary alternate lodgings.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
