An investigation continued Monday into a Palm Springs shooting in which one person was injured and the suspected gunman was found dead from a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon shortly after 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of West San Rafael Drive, according to the Palm Springs Police Department.
Police said officers found a man suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, and he was taken to a hospital.
Police identified a “known suspect” who had fled to a nearby commercial building, and officers set up a perimeter. After several unsuccessful attempts to communicate with the suspect, investigators obtained a search warrant to enter the unit and found a person dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
