Authorities Tuesday released the name of a man who was struck by a train and killed in South Los Angeles.

Omar Gonzalez, who was identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office, died at the scene of the collision at approximately 6:15 p.m. Monday in the 4100 block of South Long Beach Avenue.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, which responded to the location, life-saving measures were unsuccessful.
