A motorcycle rider was killed Thursday in a collision in La Puente with an undercover police officer serving a search warrant.

The crash was reported about 5:45 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of East Amar Road and North Evanwood Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, which responded to the scene, but did not transport anyone.

Images from the location showed a tent of the kind used to shield a body from public view at the site of the wreckage, in the middle of the roadway.

An Alhambra police officer at the scene was recorded in a video posted to social media saying one of his department’s officers was undercover and serving a search warrant when the collision occurred.

Watch commanders at the Alhambra Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department declined to answer City News Service’s questions about the crash when reached hours after it occurred.

A message left for an Alhambra police public information officer was not immediately returned.
