A 37-year-old woman who was struck and killed in Van Nuys by a pickup truck whose driver drove away was identified Tuesday.
The crash occurred at about 12:50 a.m. Saturday in the area of Sepulveda Boulevard and Wyandotte Street, the Los Angeles Police Department reported.
A gray 2005-11 Toyota Tacoma was traveling north on Sepulveda Boulevard when the vehicle struck the woman, who was walking eastbound in an unmarked crosswalk, police said.
The truck continued northbound on Sepulveda Boulevard without stopping. Arriving paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified her Tuesday as Shanniece McDowell, who sustained blunt force injuries.
