A 43-year-old man who shot his pregnant wife to death and then killed himself in Westwood was publicly identified Wednesday.
Aytac Camdeviren died from a gunshot wound of the head by suicide, the Medical Examiner’s office said.
His pregnant wife, Gul Erdogan, died from a gunshot wound to the head with the manner of death listed as homicide, officials said.
The murder-suicide was reported around 5:45 a.m. Friday at a home in the 1300 block of Holmby Avenue, about two blocks south of Wilshire Boulevard, just west of the Los Angeles Country Club, officials said.
Officers had responded to a shooting call at the location and found the deceased couple inside, an officer said.
“They seemed like a pretty happy couple, talking, walking hand-in-hand,” neighbor Richard Schultz told KTLA5.
He told the station the woman was eight-and-a-half months pregnant, and they held a baby shower on the Fourth of July.
Law enforcement sources also told NBC4 the woman was pregnant.
