It took firefighters about 35 minutes to put out a two-alarm fire in a vacant commercial building in Walnut Park Saturday.
Firefighters arrived at 8:25 p.m. Saturday to a single-story vacant market at 2540 E. Florence Ave., east of Santa Fe Avenue, the Los Angeles County Fire Department stated.
Heavy smoke was showing when firefighters arrived, Capt. Aaron Katon told City News Service. Video on CBSLA showed heavy flames as well.
A second alarm was called at 8:55 p.m., sending more firefighters to the scene, fire officials said. The fire was out at 9 p.m.
