A person was killed during a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning on the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Mid-City community of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The victim was later identified as Arturo Marquez Rodarte, 48, according to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s website, which does not list Rodarte’s city of residence.
The crash, which involved a green pickup truck traveling eastbound left, took place at 2:26 a.m. Saturday just west of La Brea Avenue, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson said.
A Sigalert issued at 2:56 a.m. closing the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 lanes of the freeway was canceled at 6:20 a.m.
