A Silver Alert was activated Wednesday for a 70-year-old man diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes last seen in Canoga Park.
Rutilio De Jesus Duran was last seen around 12:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 7300 block of Independence Avenue, two blocks east of De Soto Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department..
Duran was described as a 5-foot-6-inch-tall Hispanic man weighing 175 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a green shirt, pants, black shoes, sunglasses and a red baseball cap.
Anyone with information regarding Duran’s whereabouts was urged to call 911.
The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impaired person goes missing and is determined to be at-risk to help them be recovered more quickly.
