A small brush fire broke out Wednesday in the Beverly Crest area, drawing an air and ground response from crews.

The fire, described as slow-moving and about a quarter-acre in size, was reported about 1:30 p.m. in the 1600 block of North San Ysidro Drive, according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No homes were immediately threatened in the hillside residential neighborhood, and no evacuations were immediately ordered, he said.

The fire was burning in light grass in steep terrain, according to Humphrey.

Crews from the Beverly Hills Fire Department were assisting LAFD crews in battling the blaze, he said.
