The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Tuesday unanimously approved agreements raising pay 10 percent over the next three years for several groups of county employees, including firefighters and sheriff’s deputies.
Criminalists, peace officers, custody assistants, coroner investigators, probation directors, supervising child support officers and assistant deputy district attorneys are also covered by the agreements.
The precise timing varies by bargaining unit, but the employees will receive a 3 percent increase effective retroactively to either September or October, another 3 percent increase in the county’s 2016-17 fiscal year and two increases totaling 4 percent in fiscal year 2017-18.
The unions have already ratified the agreements.
Service Employees International Union Local 721, which represents more than 55,000 county employees, has yet to ratify its labor agreement with county management. Voting is scheduled to continue through Nov. 19.
