Triple-digit temperatures scorched most of Riverside County Saturday and were predicted to continue through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
Saturday temperatures reached a high of 96 in the Temecula Valley, 103 in the Riverside metropolitan area and 112 in the Coachella Valley.
A flash flood warning was issued until 6:15 p.m. Saturday for areas including Anza, Aguanga and the Cahuilla Indian Reservation. Forecasters said Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.25 inches of rain had fallen, with additional amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch possible in the warned area.
Sunday highs were predicted to reach 92 in the Temecula Valley, 97 in the Riverside metropolitan area and 113 in the Coachella Valley, according to the NWS.
During the upcoming week, temperatures were expected to stay in the mid-to-high 90s in the Riverside metro area, dropping to the mid-60s overnight.
The Temecula Valley was expected to have temperatures in the low 90s all week, with lows in the 60s.
Coachella Valley was predicted to remain under 110 degrees all week, with lows of 80 most nights.
