Metro is seeking members of the public to serve on the fifth cohort of its Public Safety Advisory Committee, with applications due Sept. 8, the agency announced Friday.
The committee said it is seeking regular Metro riders who can help advance a safer, more welcoming and equitable transit system.
Members are expected to bring experience as riders or expertise in areas including racial justice, equitable transit, public safety reform, law enforcement, victims’ rights, mental health, homelessness and social services.
Metro also is seeking to include perspectives from youth, women, seniors and people with disabilities.
Selected members will serve two-year terms beginning in 2027. The committee will meet in person monthly, with additional outreach, engagement and subcommittee meetings possible as needed. Members may be compensated for their time.

Applications are due Sept. 8, with mailed applications required to be postmarked by that date.
