Christoph Waltz received the 2,536th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Monday for his two Oscar-winning performances and a long career in Europe.

Quentin Tarantino, who directed Waltz in his Oscar-winning performances in “Inglourious Basterds” and “Django Unchained,” joined Waltz at the ceremony in front of Musso & Frank Grill.

“My heart is not just a little bit throbbing with pride, it is bursting,” Waltz said.

The ceremony came five days after the release of Waltz’s latest film, “Horrible Bosses 2.” He also co-stars with Amy Adams in the Tim Burton- directed biography of the husband-and-wife artists Walter and Margaret Keane, “Big Eyes,” set to be released Christmas Day.

Born Oct. 4, 1956, in Vienna, Waltz studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. He began his career as a stage actor in Switzerland and Austria, then went on to appear in many European film, television and stage productions.

Waltz’s other English-language film credits include “The Green Hornet,” “Water for Elephants,” “The Three Musketeers,” “Carnage” and “The Zero Theorem.” He recently completed filming for “Tarzan,” set to be released July 1, 2016.
