A young man who alleges he was beaten up at a Brentwood party by the son of actor Peter Dante, who has appeared in several Adam Sandler films, sued the father and son Wednesday, along with the host of the gathering.
Eliyahu Davidson filed the suit in Los Angeles Superior Court, naming Dante, his son Jake, and Daniel Ben-Svi.
Davidson is seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages on allegations of assault, battery, civil rights violations, negligence, furnishing alcohol to minors and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Representatives for the defendants could not be immediately reached for comment.
Davidson was 17 years old when he went to the party last May 17, according to the lawsuit, which alleges Ben-Svi provided alcohol to underage teens and may have been aware that drugs also were being given out to some of those same young people.
Jake Dante allegedly consumed alcohol and cocaine and yelled “I just beat up a Persian Jew” after attacking Davidson, according to the suit.
The elder Dante knew of his son’s violent disposition and both he and Ben-Svi failed to properly supervise him, the suit alleges.
Davidson was hospitalized with head trauma, a broken nose and a dislocated shoulder and still has lingering back and head pain, according to his lawsuit. He says he also suffered emotional distress and missed classes at school, causing him to graduate a semester late.
Peter Dante, 46, is often cast in films made by and starring Sandler, including “The Waterboy” and “50 First Dates,” according to IMDB.com.
