Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman, the cutest kid on “The Cosby Show,” didn’t make such a cute comment on “The View,” saying she wouldn’t hire someone with a “ghetto” name.
“I’m not about to hire you if your name is Watermelondrea. It’s just not going to happen. I’m not going to hire you,” Symone said.
On Sunday, she backtracked, apologizing in the wake of her social media shaming.
“I have been denied many jobs because of my skin color, body size, and age. Each time I was rejected, my self esteem was negatively effected, so I empathize with those who feel victimized by what I said,” Symone wrote on Facebook.
“My comment was in poor taste,” said the 29-year-old actress. “My lack of empathy towards name discrimination was uncalled for.”
