Hoping to seduce an older demographic, the sequel to “Fifty Shades of Grey” will feature 62-year-old Oscar winner Kim Basinger. Her role in “Fifty Shades Darker” is being depicted as a 21st century Mrs. Robinson a la “The Graduate.”

“Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan are returning to reprise their roles of Anastasia Steele and Grey, respectively, with James Foley taking over directing,” Variety said.
Basinger is a former Bond girl, and marieclaire noted she also played the “ultimate vixen in the 1997 film LA Confidential. Watch out, Dakota Johnson.”
Universal is planning to shoot “Fifty Shades Darker” and the final movie in the series, “Fifty Shades Freed,” back-to-back, Variety said.
First reactions were positive.
