In the slip heard ’round the world, Donald Trump hailed the first responders to the “7-Eleven” terror attacks. He has yet to apologize for his Monday night flub.
But social media exploded with mocking reaction to the GOP front-runner mistaking a convenience store chain for 9/11.
His actual comment: “I wrote this out, and it’s very close to my heart. Because I was down there and I watched our police and our firemen down at 7/11, down at the World Trade Center right after it came down. And I saw the greatest people I’ve ever seen in action.”
On Tuesday, a representative of the retail chain told MyNewsLA.com: “7-Eleven does not have any comments at this time.”
Trump didn’t correct himself, CNN noted.
But others did on his behalf.
