Somewhere in the universe, Donald Trump’s popularity has been solved. But not in the far-seeing mind of Stephen Hawking.

The renowned British theoretical physicist told ITV’s “Good Morning Britain” show Tuesday that he can’t account for the Republican’s success.

“He is a demagogue who seems to appeal to the lowest common denominator,” Hawking said through the computer system operated with his cheek.

Asked to explain the political ascendance of Trump, he said: “I can’t.”

No reaction yet from the New York businessman, who once mocked a New York Times reporter with a disability.
