Amber Heard and estranged husband Johnny Depp settled their bitter divorce case Tuesday.
The pair issued a joint statement in the wake of their agreement.
“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love,” the statement read. “Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity. There will be no further public statements about this matter.”
TMZ.com reported that Depp has agreed to pay the actress $7 million and that she is dropping her domestic violence allegations against him.
Heard was granted a temporary restraining order in May after claiming that Depp verbally and physically abused her throughout their relationship and marriage. She filed for divorce a few days earlier.
A trial on whether a permanent restraining order should have been filed against Depp was set to begin Wednesday.
The 52-year-old actor and Heard, 30, met on the set of “The Rum Diary” and were married in February 2015. She filed for divorce in May, then obtained the restraining order the following day, alleging Depp struck her during an argument at their home on May 21.
