Conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly died on Labor Day at age 92, and her passing worked up a lot of emotion on both sides.
The left mocked her as an equal rights amendment opponent who paved the way for Donald Trump (whom she endorsed six months ago).
The right hailed her as an anti-abortion leader who kept the faith via her Eagle Forum.
Trump’s campaign manager Kellyanne Conway tweeted: “Thank you, Phyllis Schlafly, for your grace, strength, courage and impact. Always classy. Never shirked from a fight. God bless you.”
Reaction wasn’t always classy but continued the fight.
