Old rockers from the 1960s just won’t give up their guitars and retire to the old folks home.
We had Mick Jagger and the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney at “Oldchella” last year. Now Deep Purple — a British heavy metal pioneering band formed in 1968 — is going out on maybe a last tour.
They’ll be joined by still-weird Alice Cooper, 68, and 70-year-old Edgar Winter.
Despite their ages, they must have reserves of energy, as they’ll be rocking in a 19-city tour this summer, including the Greek Theatre in Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
The tour, which will be produced by Live Nation, will serve as the Long Goodbye Tour for Deep Purple, a statement said. It will start in Las Vegas on Aug. 12 and move to the Greek Theatre the next day.
