Was Jesus watching the eclipse, too?

No doubt people were looking for God’s son. At least one Facebook user posted a shot of what looks like Christ being crucified in the clouds. said: “Many Christian leaders believe this event is more than an incredible scientific occurrence. Many believe it is a prophetic sign that we are living in the end times and that Christ’s return is imminent.”

Quoted were several astrophysical-religious experts:

Mark Blitz said a solar eclipse is meant as a sign from God — a warning to a specific nation or nations depending on its path.

“Could God be giving us a warning that we need to repent or judgment will be coming to the United States?” he said. “The timing couldn’t be clearer!”

Anne Graham Lotz said: “The celebratory nature regarding the eclipse brings to my mind the Babylonian King Belshazzar who threw a drunken feast the night the Medes and Persians crept under the city gate.”

And Michael Snyder asked: “So will 2017 turn out to be one of the most meaningful years for Bible prophecy that we have ever seen? I don’t know, but Jesus did repeatedly tell us to watch for signs of His return, so I am watching.”

According to a Facebook post, people said a North Carolina photo shot by Sheila Bowers “shows something divine in the clouds.”
