Oscar-winning actor Kate Winslet will receive the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Actors Inspiration Award in November, honoring her distinguished acting career and philanthropic work, the organization announced Thursday.

“Without a doubt, Kate is an incomparable actress who we admire for her work and contribution to our craft,” said SAG-AFTRA Foundation President JoBeth Williams. “Yet, what makes Kate this year’s honoree is the work she does behind the scenes making a difference in the lives of children and adults living with autism through her golden Hat Foundation while simultaneously supporting so many other worthwhile charities.”

Winslet’s “Titanic” co-star, Leonardo DiCaprio, was the inaugural recipient of the Actors Inspiration Award.

Winslet has also appeared in films including “Little Children,” “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “Iris,” “Sense and Sensibility” and her Oscar-winning role in “The Reader.”

She will be honored by the foundation at a gala event on Nov. 9 at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills.

During the event, the foundation will present Patron of the Artists Awards to writer/director/producer Judd Apatow, Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow and Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos for their work “supporting actors and performing artists in their careers.”
