Even the greats at “spit takes” had to marvel at James Franco and his perfect execution on “Saturday Night Live.”

But it wasn’t a mouthful of water that spewed into Leslie Jones’ mouth in a Bloomingdale’s gift-wrapper sketch. It was fake blood.

The blood-squirting routine isn’t new. It’s been done by many, especially Las Vegas magicians Penn and Teller.

But Quentin Tarantino couldn’t have done a better job choreographing this copious blood-letting, with liquid shooting out of the guest host’s fingers, hands and legs.

On Instagram, Jones said: “This man almost made me puke on national television!! Lmao we had a good time with James Franco!!”

Others suggested that Jones stifled vomiting by gagging down the red-dye liquid.

“Basically, the fake blood landed in Jones’ mouth, then she threw up in her mouth, and then she swallowed it so she wouldn’t throw up on live TV… because she’s a goddamn trooper.

Hosting SNL for the fourth time, former UCLA short-timer Franco said: “My favorite sketch ever.”
