Gayle King was announced Tuesday as host of Sunday’s “ACM Presents: Our Country,” a two-hour CBS special featuring at-home discussions and performances with some of country music’s biggest names — aired in lieu of the annual ACM Awards.
The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards were scrubbed due to the coronavirus. Sunday’s special airing in its place will feature country stars Shania Twain, Kelsea Ballerini, Dierks Bentley, Kane Brown & John Legend, Sheryl Crow, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line and Old Dominion.
The special will also include a tribute to 10-time ACM Award winner Kenny Rogers, who died March 20 at age 81. The tribute will feature performances by Luke Bryan, Brad Paisley and Darius Rucker.
The show will follow a similar format to a musical special that aired this week and was hosted by Elton John, featuring living-room performances by acts such as Billie Eilish, Dave Grohl, Alicia Keys and the Backstreet Boys. The show will air at 8 p.m.
