“Wonder Woman 1984” kept its spot atop the box office this weekend, grossing $5.5 million, according to industry estimates released Sunday.
Director Patty Jenkins’ highly anticipated sequel to her 2017 hit saw a significant drop from its $16.7 million gross on opening weekend, Comscore reported.
“The Croods: A New Age” took second place with $2.18 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada.

“News Of The World” was third with $1.69 million, followed by “Monster Hunter” with $1.25 million and “Fatale” with $700,000.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “Promising Young Woman” ($660,000), “Pinocchio” ($284,035), “The War With Grandpa” ($113,983), a re-release of 1979’s “Alien” ($75,000) and “Come Play” ($55,000).
Indoor movie theaters in Southern California are closed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic, leaving only limited outdoor screenings.
