“The Batman,” the latest film incarnation of Gotham City’s Dark Knight, scored a leading six nominations Wednesday for the third annual Critics Choice Super Awards, honoring superhero, sci-fi, fantasy, horror and action movies.

“The Batman” was nominated for best superhero movie, while Robert Pattinson, Paul Dano and Colin Farrell were all nominated for best actor in a superhero movie. The film’s Zoe Kravitz scored a nod for best actress in a superhero movie, while Dano was also nominated for best villain.

Also nominated for best superhero movie were “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” “DC League of Super-Pets,” “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” and “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
