The Grammy-nominated Southern rock band The Black Crowes will perform at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino at 8 p.m. Friday.
The Atlanta-formed band is best known for a pair of multi-platinum albums in the early 1990s, “Shake Your Money Maker” and “The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion,” the latter of which reached the top spot on the Billboard charts. “Shake Your Money Maker” contains the band’s two most popular songs, “She Talks to Angels” and “Hard to Handle.”
Brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, the only two current members from the original lineup, have been part of The Black Crowes since their formation in 1984. Bassist Sven Pipien, a Crowe since 1997, is joined by keyboardist Erik Deutsch, who joined the band in 2022, guitarist Nico Bereciartua and drummer and percussionist Cully Symington, who both joined in 2023.
The Black Crowes’ latest album, “Happiness Bastards,” released in March, received a Grammy nomination for best rock album — their first nomination since losing to Mariah Carey for best new artist in 1991.
