“Captain America: Brave New World” is the most popular movie in North America for the third straight week, earning $15 million this weekend, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

Disney’s latest entry in the Marvel universe, which stars Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford, beat out the underwater thriller “Last Breath,” which opened with $7.8 million, Comscore reported.

“The Monkey,” a horror film based on a Stephen King story, earned $6.3 million Friday through Sunday in its second weekend.

“Paddington in Peru” was fourth with $4.5 million in its third weekend, followed by “Dog Man” with $4.2 million in its fifth weekend.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were “Mufasa: The Lion King” ($1.9 million), “Ne Zha 2” ($1.7 million), “Heart Eyes” ($1.3 million), “The Unbreakable Boy” ($1.2 million) and “One of Them Days” ($925,000).

This weekend’s overall three-day box office haul was estimated at $53.3 million. The year-to-date total is $1.081 billion — up 11% from the figure at this time last year, according to Comscore.
