Clothing, awards and personal items belonging to the late Whitney Houston will go up for auction in Los Angeles Tuesday to raise money for a foundation established in the singer’s name.
The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation 2026 Auction will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday and feature memorabilia from Houston’s career and personal collection, according to Julien’s Auctions.
All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation, which supports youth through scholarships, arts education and community programs, officials said.
Among the items being offered are a three-piece MCM luggage set, a Burberry coat from Houston’s 2009-10 “Nothing But Love” world tour, a red leather Versace ensemble worn during the 1999 “VH1 Divas” performance and a mini dress she wore at the 1988 American Music Awards.
Also going on the auction block is a platinum sales award presented to Houston for her 1987 hit “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” which earned her the 1988 Grammy Award for best female pop vocal performance.
Other items include a Dolce & Gabbana gown Houston wore for a fitting during her “My Love Is Your Love” world tour, a Bob Mackie embellished jacket, a 1987 portrait of Houston by photographer Richard Avedon that hung in her office and a gold-plated Social Security card bearing her name.
“Whitney’s voice and legacy continue to inspire generations, and this new collection offers fans a meaningful, personal way to celebrate her life and enduring impact,” Martin Nolan, co-founder and executive director of Julien’s Auctions, said in a statement.
Pat Houston, president of the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation and executor of the singer’s estate, said this marks the foundation’s second year working with Julien’s Auctions.
“This year, we have some super great one-of-a-kind memorabilia from Whitney’s archives and we are excited about the auction,” she said in a statement.
Houston, who sold more than 220 million recordings worldwide, died in Beverly Hills in 2012 at age 48.
The Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation was formed by Houston’s estate in 2020 to continue the singer’s charitable work and provide programs and services for young people.
The auction will be conducted live and online, with bidding also available by telephone and absentee bid.
