A bird that got into electrical equipment and sparked a fire caused a large power outage in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles on Friday, officials said.
Approximately 14,800 customers lost power during the outage, according to Jane Galbraith with the Department of Water and Power.
The power outage was initially sparked at a distribution station in the 5700 block of West Pico Boulevard, where an operator then reset power delivery by around 3:30 p.m., Galbraith said.
No further information was available.
