A small earthquake rattled parts of the South Los Angeles area Monday.

The temblor — initially reported as a magnitude-3.2 quake but later downgraded to 2.9 — struck at 9:05 a.m. at a depth of 7.4 miles, its epicenter one mile southwest of Compton, according to a computer-generated report from the U.S. Geological Survey.

There were no reports of any injuries or damage.
