Two people suffered burn injuries when flames engulfed a boat fire Friday afternoon in Marina Del Rey.

The fire, involving a 35-foot power boat, was reported at 1:35 p.m., in the main channel of the marina, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Both patients were taken to a hospital, officials said.

The fire was declared out at 2:02 p.m., according to the fire department.

The boat eventually sank, but its fuel was contained, an official said.

One other person sustained minor injuries, the fire department reported.

No other vessel was threatened by the flames.
