A fire damaged a single-story commercial building in downtown Los Angeles Friday, but nobody was hurt.
Firefighters sent to the 900 block of South Maple Avenue about 12:05 p.m. extinguished the fire in about 40 minutes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fire heavily damaged one unit and resulted in some smoke damage to two adjacent units.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
