Firefighters extinguished flames in a 100-foot-by-200-foot commercial building undergoing renovations in the Hyde Park area of South Los Angeles in just 25 minutes Tuesday morning.
The first crews to arrive on scene reported heavy fire coming from the roof of the Vision Theater in the 4400 block of Leimert Boulevard, near Vernon Avenue, at 4:35 a.m., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 105 firefighters battled the fire and a knockdown was called at 5 a.m., he said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
