Authorities Friday identified a motorist who was killed when his car crashed on an offramp from the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in West Los Angeles.
The crash occurred about 4:50 a.m. Monday at the Venice Boulevard offramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Elson Salgado, 22, of Los Angeles died at scene, according to the coroner’s office. A 20-year-old Los Angeles woman riding in the 2008 Audi A4 was taken to a hospital for treatment of major injuries, the CHP reported.
“The Audi was traveling at a high rate of speed and (the driver) was unable to negotiate the curve of the offramp,” according to a CHP statement.
