A pedestrian was killed Monday in a hit-and-run collision in the southwest Los Angeles area, and the motorist was being sought.

The man, in his 50s, was struck about 5:20 a.m. in the 1200 block of West 94th Street and died at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol. His name was not immediately released.

The hit-and-run vehicle was described only as a possible light-colored sedan, according to the CHP, which asked anyone with information on the case to call its West Los Angeles Area office at 310-642-3939.
