“Nobody,” an action film starring Bob Odenkirk, opened at the top of the box office this weekend with $6.7 million, according to industry estimates released Sunday.
“Raya and the Last Dragon” — the top-grossing film for the previous three weeks — was second with $3.5 million, followed by another children’s film, “Tom & Jerry,” which grossed $2.5 million, Comscore reported.
“Chaos Walking” was fourth with $1.18 million Friday through Sunday at theaters in the United States and Canada, and “The Courier” was fifth with $1.04 million.
Grosses are being boosted by the re-opening of many theaters after about a year of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, including theaters in Southern California.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were “The Croods: A New Age” ($540,000), “The Marksman” ($375,000), “Boogie” ($340,000), “Minari” ($275,000) and “Wonder Woman 1984” ($245,000).
