A fire scorched about half an acre of brush in the Malibu area Thursday, and left a firefighter injured.
Firefighters were sent to the 24600 block of Piuma Road, west of West Saddle Peak Road, about 12:20 p.m., the Los Angeles County fire Department reported.
The forward progress of the fire was stopped in about 45 minutes by firefighters on the ground who were aided by aircraft crews, the fire department reported. Some ground crews remained on scene afterward, looking for hot spots.
No structures were damaged, the fire department reported. A firefighter suffered an unspecified injury and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
