Actor/director John Krasinski and actresses Selma Blair and Marlee Matlin are among the honorees announced Monday for the 2021 Media Access Awards, which honor individuals and productions that advance the portrayal and employment of people with disabilities in Hollywood.

“Disability is the new face of human rights in America and being increasingly seen and heard on film and TV is a vital step in recognizing this vast minority as part of the American fabric,” Deborah Calla and Allen Rucker, CEOs of the Media Access Awards, said in a joint statement. “This is the vision behind these awards.”

Krasinski will receive the Media Access Award for Excellence in Directing for “A Quiet Place II,” while Blair will receive the Visionary Award and Matlin will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The honors will be presented in a streaming ceremony set for Nov. 17.

Other honorees at the event will be deaf actor Troy Kotsur, producer Andrea Warren, writer Ryan O’Connell, Olympic high-jumper Jamie Nieto and casting directors Deborah Aquila, Lisa Zagoria and Tricia Wood. Zeno Mountain Farms, a Vermont nonprofit that offers camps for people with disabilities, will also be honored.
