The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the 11th time in 12 days, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $5.297.

The average price has dropped 7.5 cents over the past 12 days, including 1.1 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped nine consecutive days, was unchanged Monday and resumed dropping Tuesday.

The average price is 5.5 cents less than one week ago and 3 cents lower than one month ago but 43.2 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.197 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 13th consecutive day and 20th time in 21 days, decreasing 1 cent to $5.203. It has dropped 14.6 cents over the past 21 days, including 1.4 cents Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 6.8 cents less than one week ago and 9.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 40.2 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.256 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped seven consecutive days, rose two-tenths of a cent April 25, then resumed dropping the next day.

A five-day streak of decreases to the national average price totaling 3.1 cents ended when it was unchanged, remaining at $3.64. It is 2.3 cents less than one week ago, but 4.2 cents more than one month ago and 10.3 cents higher than one year ago.

The national average price has dropped $1.376 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
