ABC announced Friday that “The Conners” will end its run with the 2024-25 season and the cancellation of the comedy “Not Dead Yet” after two seasons.
“The Conners” was a spinoff of “Roseanne” with all of the major cast members except series star Roseanne Barr and was ordered in 2018 after the reboot of “Roseanne” was canceled hours after Barr posted a racist tweet.
“Not Dead Yet” starred Gina Rodriguez as a newspaper obituary writer who could see the dead people she was assigned to write about.
ABC also announced Friday it had renewed seven alternative series for the 2024-25 season — “American Idol,” “The Bachelor,” “Celebrity Jeopardy!” “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “Shark Tank” and “What Would You Do?”
ABC had previously announced it had ordered two new scripted series — the medical drama “Doctor Odyssey” and the detective drama “High Potential” — and the renewals of five others — “Abbott Elementary, “9-1-1,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Rookie” and “Will Trent.”
