A 70-year-old man diagnosed with hypertension and diabetes who had been the subject of a Silver Alert has been found.

The California Highway Patrol announced at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday that Rutilio De Jesus Duran had been found, but did not say when or where as per department policy.

The Silver Alert was activated at 2:08 p.m. Wednesday on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department after Duran was reported missing after last being seen around 12:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 7300 block of Independence Avenue, two blocks east of De Soto Avenue, in Canoga Park, authorities said.

The CHP activates a Silver Alert when an elderly or developmentally or cognitively impaired person goes missing and is determined to be at-risk to help them be recovered more quickly.
