A burglar who gained entry into two homes in Garden Grove and may have tried to sexually assault a female in one of the residences has been arrested, police said Saturday.

Police said Noe Gonzalez, 30, was inside in one of the homes for approximately 30 to 40 minutes before he was detected, said Garden Grove Police Lt. Robert Bogue.

In the residence in the 12500 block of Volkwood Street, Gonzalez allegedly walked into the bedroom of a young woman and made physical contact with her. She confronted him and he fled the bedroom.

She then told her father, who called police, Bogue said.

Officers dispatched to the scene at 11:10 p.m. Friday in response to a call of a residential burglary that had just occurred discovered that Gonzalez reportedly made his way into the home through an unlocked sliding glass door, he said.

“While investigating the crime scene, one of the officers walked outside to his police car and heard a disturbance from the home directly next door to the first burglary,” Bogue said. “Two residents exited and said a suspect was in their house.”

Additional police were called in, and the homeowners gave the same description of the suspect as the first victims. A perimeter was set up and the suspect was found hiding in the backyard of a nearby residence.

Gonzalez was injured when he fought a police dog and was Tasered by police. The Garden Grove resident was treated for his injuries and later transported to the Orange County Jail, where be was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary and attempted rape arrest, Bogue said.
