A 30-year-old man accused of following two girls into a public restroom at Modjeska Park in Anaheim and groping one of them has been sentenced to eight years in prison following his guilty plea.
Frank Zsemlye followed a 13-year-old girl who was taking her 7-year-old sister to the bathroom on July 19, 2012. He grabbed the older girl from behind and pulled her into a stall, where he fondled her while trying to cover her mouth, according to prosecutors.
The victim was able to scream, prompting her assailant to flee from the bathroom, prosecutors said. Some people in the park heard the scream, chased the suspect and flagged down a police car. The suspect was arrested nearby.
Zsemlye admitted a felony count of forcible lewd act on a child, according to court records. A count of lewd or lascivious act with a minor and a felony count of assault of a minor with the intent to commit a sex offense were dropped. The guilty plea came Friday.
