A 55-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man who were arrested following a nearly two-hour televised chase pleaded guilty Wednesday to identity theft charges and sentenced to six months in jail.

Jessica Smith Roten and Corey Dillon Richardson, both of Anaheim, were also placed on three years of formal probation. Roten is Richardson’s mother.

David Byran Brown, 45, of Anaheim, who was driving and was also charged with leading police on a chase and reckless driving, awaits trial.

Brown, who is married to Roten, was accused in a series of mail thefts across south Orange County.

The three were arrested Dec. 18 after a chase that began along the northbound San Diego (5) Freeway in Laguna Hills about 2:30 p.m. and ended almost two hours later near the corner of Lakewood Boulevard and Florence Avenue in Downey.

The driver of the silver Honda Civic drove along freeways and surface streets through red lights, around traffic and on wrong sides of streets.

The chase ended when the driver and passengers got out of the vehicle and tried to run away.
