A driver suffered burn-related injuries when his car burst into flames after the out-of-control vehicle crashed into a light pole early Wednesday in Anaheim, police said.
The crash was reported at 1:47 a.m. on Lincoln Avenue just west of East Street, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Jacob Gallacher.
The man was driving a silver or gray Infiniti when the vehicle struck the center median and then crashed into a light pole and small tree, Gallacher said.
The car caught fire but the man was able to walk away from the vehicle, the sergeant said. He was taken to a trauma center for burn-related injuries. His condition was not immediately reported.
Westbound Lincoln Avenue between East Street and Anaheim Boulevard was closed for hours after the crash.
